Key Findings: 

• New data show that ADHD among U.S. children continues to be a substantial public health concern based on 2022 data (National Survey of Children’s Health).
• The estimated number of children aged 3–17 years with diagnosed ADHD increased from 2016 to 2022 by 1 million (from 9.9% to 11.4%), and nearly 78% of children with ADHD have at least one other co-occurring condition, such as a behavior or conduct problem (44.1%) or anxiety (39.1%)
• Treatment gaps have widened; nearly 2 million children with ADHD did not receive ADHD-specific treatment in 2022 (about 1 in 3 children in 2022 compared with about 1 in 4 children in 2016
